Kevan ManwaringKevan, aka Tallyessin, is a visionary poet in the Bardic Tradition. He performs from memory and from the heart. He is the winner of the Bardic Chair of Bath, and the author of The Bardic Handbook (Gothic Image 2006). With words of deep enchantment he likes to take his audience on a healing, inspiring journey.

He has performed regularly at Glastonbury Festival, Big Green Gathering, Bath Literature Festival, Tate Britain, live on BBC Radio and BBC Breakfast TV, and in the States.

He has been performing his poetry for over a decade in venues across the Southwest as well as further afield. In 1998 he was awarded the revived Bardic Chair of Caer Badon (Bath) for an epic poem based on a local legend. With Fire Springs – Storytellers of Bath he has co-created and performed in several shows. In 1999 he won the Writers’ News Ghost Story competition.

He has been running creative-writing and performance workshops for all ages since establishing Tallyessin Training in 2000 with a Prince’s Trust Loan. Apart from several poems. articles and reviews published in various magazines, his main published works to date are: Writing the Land: an anthology of natural words, editor (Awen 2003); The Long Woman, novel, (Awen 2004); Green Fire: magical tales for the wheel of the year (Awen/Sulis Underground 2004/6); The Bardic Handbook: the complete manual for the 21st century bard (Gothic Image, 2006); Windsmith, novel, (Sulis Underground 2006). He runs The Silver Branch Bardic Network and teaches fiction writing for the Open University.
